What form of martial arts compliments tall men?

I’m 6′5 and fairly broad shouldered, and i’m looking to take up some form of martial arts but i’m not sure wich. So this got me thinking, which form of martial art compliments a man of my size/strength, surely there must be certain ones that favour size and strength just like there are probably ones that favour smaller people.

Any recommendations?

    I am not quite as tall as you, but at 6′2" I’m not short t.either. The long range techniques of shotokan have always worked well for me, as well as students taller than both of us (tallest I’ve taught is 6′8"). That said, I have seen very tall guys use goju ryu very effectively, and some TKD guys I know are also both very tall and very good. You have many choices, because all martial arts will adjust to you in time, not the other way around. Look over whatever is available to you in your area, take some free classes if they are offered, so as to0 inform yourself, then make the informed choice. Best of luck.

    I’d imagine any stand up style. Styles where you can utilize both your legs and arms. Still you left out how flexible you are as that will determine how well you can learn any martial arts style. For example if you’re not flexible then you’d be better off with a style that utilizes blocks and basic strikes. If you are flexible then you can use a style like Tae Kwon Doe which has a variety of kicks and Ariel moves.

    Anything that involves kicking, because it will work to your advantage. TKD, MT, or Kick boxing

    Which art will be strongest for you depends on more than your height. It’s fine to say that long legged people should do Muay Thai but you are long armed too and that could help with Boxing. You can adapt to most arts. The first thing you should do is take stock of your overall attributes. Are you light on your feet, or solidly rooted. Heavily muscled, lean, overweight? How fast are you? Do you tend to have good cardio? Most of these things can change with training if there is an art out there that you love but aren’t predisposed to. (Just because you are 6′5" doesn’t you can’t do Capoeira, for example. It just means you’ll have to work harder to excel at it)

    So, evaluate your attributes and what you want to get out of the training. Then find out which arts you can find quality instruction on in your area and go from there.
