Is killing in self defense wrong in the eyes of god?

Is it wrong in the eyes of God to kill in self-defense?
I think killing is the worst thing you can do I live. But what if you have to. Like if your life is in danger.
Example your’e being jump by a group of gang members and you manage to make one stop but only by killing him, is that still wrong or you just try to figure out another way. Also to the troops in Iraq is it wrong for them to kill or is it okay cuz they are doing it in self defense.
What I am saying is if even kill would you go to hell?

I asked myself the same thing when I was in the service. At the time I wasn’t thinking about it when I was firing my weapon. I spent many days talking to my priest and doing a lot of praying trying to sort out the feelings of guilt I had.
My priest asked me if I was trying to commit evil when I was in combat. The answer was no, I just wanted to protect myself and my buddies around me. I still feel guilty about it but I don’t think I’m going pay for it in the afterlife.
Self defense is not wrong under most circumstances.
if its out of self defense then NO, you will not go to hell, but the only way that you can go to heaven is if you have repented of your sins and have Jesus in your heart,
It’s called survival and we’re wired for it courtesy of millions of years of evolution.
That is why the commandment says Thou shall not kill except for.
NOT.
Love and blessings Don
no its not wrong to kill a person when you did not intend to
killing to stop attack may be allowed by the secular world but god would rather you wound the person not kill him.
god says to love your enemy and seek not to murder them
Killing in defense of your life and your family is not a sin. It can be confessed as "the regret of the necessity" to kill.
Many view that is a very hard answer. Honest scriptual evidance. Look back to when Peter drew his sword when they came for christ, and Christ said any man that stands by his sword shall perish
Matthew 26:52
Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Yes it is a sin.
also read 1 cor 10, the whole chapter, it will tell you about standing with mans swords
Killing is killing, no matter your intentions. But then again the christian god is very biased about murder in the bible, condoning the murder of philistines and "sinners". So if the person you are killing is greek than it is ok.
I’m not a Christian, but before you thumbs down me, I’d like to tell you what my liberal Christian parents taught me.
They taught me that wars, violence, and killing were all horrible things, but they also told me how my name, William, means loving guardian, and that I need to protect the one I love. My mother believes sometimes fighting back to protect yourself is necessary, but to kill someone when you could just "subdue" them, as my father told me, is morally incorrect.
So I would say, only if killing in absolutely necessary to protect yourself or others is it OK. You should try your best to stop those who try to harm you with doing them as little harm as possible.
Killing babies and children with disease, starvation and tragedy isn’t wrong in the eyes of god so killing in self defense will proly score you points with the (wo)man.
One of my favorite things about society is that we all agree that murder is wrong, unless your country tells you it’s ok, then it’s patriotic. Small minds.
