How to learn self-defense without taking a class?

I need to learn some type of self-defense fighting style. Unfortunately I currently don’t have the money to pay 0/month for a class (that’s about how much it costs where I live) and I’m really short on cash these days. I need to learn fast, at least enough to defend myself when I need to. I don’t want to hurt anyone extremely bad but just enough for them to understand to back off. Tips? Advice?

What's the best 9mm hollow point for self defense?

I have a feeling I’m going to get a lot of "it’s all personal preference" but I was curious as to what people trust for their self defense ammo. Basically I’m looking for a round that will inflict maximum damage if I ever had to use my weapon to defend myself. I’ve heard federal hydra-shocks are good from a friend that is being a police officer but I would greatly appreciate any and all recommendations. Thanks in advance!

How is Taekwondo not seen as good for learning self defence?

Just an FYI I might make quite a few questions in this section lol

I hear that people say it’s not good for self defence. Is that because it’s an offencive style mainly based on kicking?
what i should really ask is would it effectively help you if you were in a position where you’d have to fight someone
