Question

I was wondering if it is legally self defense if someone gives you a push and you hit them. What am I legally able and not able to do about it the second someone puts their hands on me.

In my opinion, it is important for students to get taught about the local self defence laws.

Do you get taught, or teach, about your laws on self defence?
Is it something which should be taught by martial art teachers?
Is it something which is missed out in many martial arts schools?
Or should it be left to the student or their parents to educate themselves on the laws of self defence?

If one had to pull some concealed nunchukas in self defense against a group of wanna be "gangstas", what would be the best way to use them?
Thanks but I was just asking out of curiousity. I carry guns so I wouldn’t pack nunchukas:)

I’ve been taking judo for about a month now and I’ve come to notice that only really the brown belts and above are competant enough to use it effectively on resisting opponents. I am going to stick with it, and commit myself but it also made me wonder which martial arts are the quickest for teaching viable self defence.

I’m not necessarily saying which is the best for self defence, but which can be applied to self defence in the shortest frame of time.

I am planning on majoring in criminal justice and becoming a police officer. One thing I want to learn beforehand is a martial art. I was interested in Krav Maga but the closest one is a hour drive away. I am interested in a martial art the specializes in modern day self-defense but doesnt have all of the ritual stuff in it.

For self defence on the street, if you are looking to take out someones legs what type of kick would you use and why? I can see why roundhouse would be a great kick to use but not so sure about front kick? so any help you can give me would be great, thanks.

Right now I am looking at Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in case I ever got in a fight with someone messing with me (is that considered self defense lol?)

Anyways yeah, in case anybody was messing with me or pushing me or a friend around what would be the best way to just beat somebody up or something?

Ive been told this from other girls in my self defense class. Do you think squeezing a big man’s testicles for self defense would really work?
