where can i find a security guard with martial arts training in new york city?

i’m looking for an unarmed guard with martial arts training to be present at a victim-offender mediation session in brooklyn. needs to have basic state license.

Is it a legal requirement to ask each new martial arts student to pay for his or her own liability insurance?

I was looking to join a local martial arts class in my local area, but they keep expecting me to pay for my own liability insurance and martial association fee.
Surely the onus for insurance should be on the instructor running the classes, and ajust his/her prices to include this. Plus I do not wish to join a martial arts association, as I only wish to do this for fun.

How to choose the right type of martial arts?

I`m a 14 year old girl, 145 lbs, and 5 foot 7 inch.

Does anyone know of a good website where they explain all the different types of martial arts? I`m more interested in the Chinese martial arts, but Japanese and Korean will suffice.

I`m interested in learning how to use weapons, and also hand-to-hand
But im not really sure on the types of martial arts there is…

How long does martial arts take to be good at it?

I am wondering how long it would take to be able to defend your self against yourself if you take martial arts. Does it take a year or two. I don’t get bullied but f the time comes when I have to defend myself I want to know how to defend myself .
