Do you think a knowledge of psychology is important in self defense training?
December 31, 2010
I do . I think its important in regards to some areas of self defense to get a jist of what an attacker is thinking and how they pick out victims( example : a mugger , rapist ), and how a potential victim can modify their own presence so as they look less of a victim to the attacker and possibly avoid the attack without ever lifting a finger , if that makes sense.
Of course this is only a small portion of self defense training but important i feel to know the mindset of attacker and can be applied to other areas of self defense where fighting back is the only option .
Do you agree ?

December 30, 2010
Hello, I want to learn how to defend myself. Because I live in a neighborhood full of gang members.
And just those people who are to no good.
I was wondering if there is any martial arts that’s really good for self defense, Not for sport fighting but self defense.
One of my friend said I should try Krav maga the other said tai jutsu.
There are a lot and I don’t know what to choose.
Im interested in one that is quick to end it.
Using every part of the body.

How can churches teach people that mixed martial arts and ultimate fighting are cool and ok?
December 28, 2010
When it the bible it wouldn’t be cool and ok because it is a sin to want to hurt someone and fight out of hate. Jesus would never fight in an mma or ufc match. I don’t think Jesus would condone it. Infact they probably preached in Rome about the barbaric fighting they used to do. So how can churches support mixed martial arts and ultimate fighting they are fights out of hatred and only warmongers and self indulged people like it.

I think self-defense training should be part of the training for teachers. Do you agree?
December 28, 2010
Many American schools are very violent places, after all. The one where I teach certainly is.
I’ve asked that our faculty be given self-defense classes as part of our required in-service training for years, but am always ignored, and I have no idea why. Anyone have a guess?
Clueless, I am afraid you are right, but it saddens me that political considerations are placed above those of safety. That is seriously screwed up.
