Dirty Dozen: 12 Nasty Fighting Techniques For Any Self-Defense Situation

Product DescriptionU. S. Army Special Forces veteran Larry Jordan was given a unique assignment by his commanders – come up with a truly down-and-dirty hand-to-hand fighting system for his fellow Green Berets and U. S. Army Rangers. The goal of this system was to give soldiers a handful of hard-core techniques that could be easily learned, easily mastered and effectively applied in any close-combat situation. Jordan devised a set of 12 techniques that were surprisingly simple, shockingly fast and brutally effective. He has now adapted this military system for civilian self-defense. He calls it “The Dirty Dozen. ” The 12 self-defense lessons in this book are specifically designed to provide the average citizen with a series of easily learned techniques that will enable him or her to prevail in any violent situation. Besides the ever-present threat of violent crime, the recent terrorist attacks aboard commercial airliners show that people can no longer . . . More >>

This book is a guide to getting yourself hurt. Some things make sense, but if attcked by a drugged and/or strong attacker, these techniques will not do any good. There are much better books out there for your security.

It was a joy to read this book. I don’t know how I could have spent the money better (except maybe playing online poker). I have a few of these beat-somebody-up books; this one might rank towards the top. I think the title comes from that movie, “The Dirty Dozen”, which is pretty clever if you think about it. Anyways, the author describes ways to seriously injure or even kill somebody without the use of weapons. This is good because have you seen the price of guns recently? So, he explains how your different body parts can inflict injury to another person; I hope that’s clear.

There is a problem. Most of the techniques require that you use one hand to grab the intended victim’s hair (and then you do something horrible to him/her with your other hand). However, have you noticed the huge number of men with no hair now a days? Then what are you supposed to do? If you think most of the downtrodden you plan to injure are bald, please find another book.

I’ve found that the best time to read the book is while I’m in bed before I fall asleep. Then, when I turn the light out, I can pretend I’m using the stuff I just read to beat the living hell out of some guy, sometimes even a girl, since it’s been determined this book says that girls and even children can have lethal intentions towards you. As the beating continues and I realize I’m winning (using these techniques of course), I start to feel more and more relaxed and drift off to a peaceful sleep. Thus, because of this book, I no longer need sleeping pills. I bet it will do the same for you.

I heartily recommend it as probably the best book I have ever read in my life.

The techniques presented in this book are simple, easy to learn, and would seem to be very effective. However, the actual techniques take only a few pages to explain and it seems as if the rest of the book is just filler to justify the price of the book. This book would be worth borrowing from the library, but not worth purchasing. Most of the techniques simply rely on grabbing the opponent’s hair and striking vital areas such as the throat, side of the neck, eyes, or temple.

I would say the book is helpfull on the getting back to basics of self-defense.
It does not contain rocket science, but is very realistic,in My opinion.
It is basically a “hit-hard” and get away type of system,it is not about the sparring type of “martial arts”.
I think even the experianced fighter will find something helpfull in this book.
